Biography

Shameeka Price-Cleare is a family law and criminal defense attorney of Battlefield Law Group, PLLC and she enjoys offering diverse representation and perspective to the practice of law. Shameeka developed an aspiration to pursue a legal career at a very early age and, since manifesting her dream of becoming an attorney, often reflects on what motivated her into this line of work. Growing up in the inner cities of Richmond, Virginia, Shameeka learned early on that there are quite unique, and sometimes unfortunate, circumstances landing individuals in a court of law, and she consciously commits her practice to ensuring that each client’s story is effectively represented.

Shameeka attended Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia where she was a Division I Track and Field athlete and studied to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Upon completing this degree, she continued her academic career at North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina where she studied to obtain her Juris Doctor degree. While in law school, Shameeka deliberately immersed herself into criminal defense clinics and courses, sharpening her trial advocacy skills and interning under the supervision of distinguished criminal defense attorneys of the North Carolina State Bar.

Since graduating law school, Shameeka moved back to Virginia and has become a member of the Virginia State Bar. She commenced her practice working with the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission as a Public Defender. Within the first five months of her practice, Shameeka achieved seventeen “not-guilty” verdicts as a court-appointed attorney, provided tenacious representation for traffic, misdemeanor and felony matters, and effectively advocated for her clients inside and outside of the courtroom.

After one year of handling court-appointed cases, Shameeka transitioned into private practice where she has translated her skillset to both initiating and defending family law and domestic matters. After working as an Associate Attorney for a boutique family law firm in Prince William County and Fairfax County, handling matters from divorce to child custody and support, Shameeka offered her talents to the Battlefield Law family where she is a fierce addition to our esteemed team. At Battlefield, Shameeka continues to exude her passion through zealous representation for each of her clients, one legal matter at a time.
